Tax credits creates 11,000 new jobs in Michigan

Funds of amount $73.8 million was sanctioned by the Michigan development office on Tuesday June 15 which will provide tax credits to ten companies in the state which in turn will create 11,000 jobs in Michigan. The tax credit was approved for companies such as Ford Motor Co. and Detroit Diesel.

Detroit Diesel makes diesel engines for trucks and it will get $56.8 million which the company will invest in Redford Township operations. About 7,704 jobs will be created by the new project.

Ford was given $10 million in tax credit to renew the Wayne Stamping Plant, which is part of Michigan Assembly Plant. The new facility will be used to design new parts for Ford Focus and Ford's next generation hybrid vehicles will be delivered from the plant. The project will take in investment of $80 million to create 100 jobs.

The food service distributer, Gordon Food Service will be given a tax credit of $1.7 million which will be used for five years to carry out operations in Canada. The company will invest $24.2 million in Wyoming to start the service that will create 400 jobs which includes 173 at the company.

National Logistics Management Co. is a provider of supply chain logistics solutions and it plans to invest $12.5 million to create 163 jobs and to retain 122 employees.

Witzenmann LLC will invest $13.1 million and create 267 jobs. It is one of the largest manufactures of flexible metallic component. Fisher & Co. Inc. plans to invest $14.8 million and create 489 jobs. With the sanctioning of tax credits for some of the companies more job opening are created in Michigan which is a positive step to provide employment in state.

As the job condition in Michigan improves, developments could be seen in the housing markets and the state which owns low - cost foreclosure homes may see rise in price. Chicago Union Station Hotels: Five Tips for Saving Money and Having Fun Staying Near Union Station and Water Taxi Stops

As Amtrak's Chicago train station, Chicago Union Station is an exciting place to begin or end a train trip.  But if you plan to tour Chicago while you are in town, you have numerous hotel options.  These lodging alternatives have their advantages and disadvantages depended on what it important to you.

Here are five ways to save money and have fun while staying near Chicago Union Station and water taxi stops:

One:  The number one tip for saving money while staying in Chicago is to choose a hotel away from Michigan Avenue.  Since "The Magnificent Mile" has copious amounts of shopping and tourist attractions, Michigan Avenue and the streets next to it host the most expensive hotels in the city.  You will save money staying closer to Union Station itself and taking other means of transportation to shopping and attractions.

Two:  Since downtown Chicago has flat topography, it is an easy area within to walk.  If the weather is nice,   walking at least one way to a tourist site will save money.  Also, you will be able to afford (financially and calorically) to eat the great Chicago food.

Three:  Taxis are everywhere in downtown Chicago when you want fast, personal service.  But if you wish to save money, try the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) buses and trains.  There is an informative Downtown Transit Sightseeing Guide at www.transitchicago.com.  It has detailed descriptions on how to ride the buses and trains, fare information and a guide to getting to numerous sightseeing attractions.  The best deal is the one, three and seven day CTA passes that can be purchased online in advanced or at many locations around downtown (ask at your hotel's front desk for the nearest location.)

Four:  In the summertime, one of the coolest ways to get to Michigan Avenue, Navy Pier, and Chinatown if you are staying close to Union Station is by taking the water taxi. Chicago Water Taxi loads at Madison Street at 2 North Riverside Center next to Union Station.  Shoreline Sightseeing also offers water taxi service across the Chicago River on Adams street next to 200 South Wacker.  From Navy Pier, Shoreline also has boats that go to Buckingham Fountain/Grant Park and the Museum Campus where the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium are located.

Five:  Three recommended hotels close to Chicago Union Station are the La Quinta Inn and Suites Chicago Downtown, the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Downtown Chicago, and the Crowne Plaza Metro.  All of these hotels are moderately-priced and have amenities such as fitness centers, indoor swimming pools, and business centers.  The La Quinta even serves free breakfast!

The VanDusen Botanical Garden is one of the most visited destinations of Vancouver in the fall. Visitors can also go through the Meadow Garden AlmaDusen which hosts amazing Japanese maples.

Tatlow Park is located at the intersection of West 3rd Avenue and Point Grey Road Area Kitsilano. With meandering streams, large trees and plenty of space to throw a picnic blanket, this park is an ideal place for picnic. The reason for that number one is because it is a bit of a hidden gem. Most tourists flock to picnic outside the dock or beach and miss Tatlow Park. For this reason, you should take a look. The park also offers access to the beach for a walk path and is a great place to watch the sunset.
